Corporate Learning Consultants Ltd sponsor local history book project
5th April 2008Corporate Learning Consultants Ltd will sponsor a new local history book, The Stokelsey Scene Collection, which captures life and local history within this North Yorkshire market town in the United Kingdom. Eric and Claire Sandelands were both raised in the area, and Eric Sandelands was one of the four original teenage editors of the Stokesley Scene magazine launched in 1978. The book marks the thirtieth anniversary of the original magazine launch.
The project was introduced to the people of Stokesley at the Local History Study Group Exhibition in the Town Hall, with the The Stokesley Scene Collection editors present throughout April 5, 2008.
Pictured above are Claire Sandelands (Corporate Learning Consultants Ltd) with Peter Hallworth, one of the original editors and the lead editor in the book project.
The book is seeking to capture the spirit of the town through the stories of its people, societies, churches, schools and community life. It balances oral history with contemporary life.
The Stokesley Scene Collection is due for publication in September. Those wishing to be notified once the book is available, or express interest in being a Corporate Partner, or listed within the book as a Friend of the Stokesley Scene Collection by pre-ordering a copy, should contact Peter Hallworth, e-mail:
peterhallworth@btinternet.com, or write to 14 Blenheim Close, Skellingthorpe, Lincs, LN6 5TL.
