Leadership programme launch in Nottingham

September 2010

Kentz managers from around the world descended on Nottingham in the UK for the start-up of the Post-Graduate Certificate in Management and Leadership (PGCML) developed for Kentz by Nottingham Business School September 10-17, 2010. Successful candidates may be invited to complete the Diploma and then the specialist MSc. The Post-Graduate Certificate, Diploma and MSc in Management and Leadership have been specifically designed for Kentz to help meet our ongoing need to develop leaders.

Gwen Gannon (Corporate HR Manager) and Dr Polly Pick (Programme Leader) in their opening remarks highlighted the importance of this collaboration for both organizations, and the opportunities for development that the programme provides. The programme kicked off with a two-day induction followed by the Management Fundamentals workshop. This module gives a critical overview of business and management, and considers the key functional areas of:

  • Finance;
  • Marketing, Client Relationships, and Internal Communications;
  • Human Resources, Management of Change, and People Management;
  • Operations and Quality Management;
  • Strategy.

Participants on the programme were chosen from those nominated by Kentz Board of Management. It is believed that they will both be able to cope with the rigours of the programme and have the potential to progress within Kentz. During the workshop they were assessed in finance and following it must conduct a business environment audit of their part of the firm.
