It is 160 km south west of Botswana’s capital Gabarone. Kentz are delivering the Debswana Cut 8 project.

The courses delivered were:

  • Team Building, May 31, 2011;
  • Time Management, June 1, 2011.

Both courses focused on experience sharing and examining real work problems in an ‘action learning’ format with Niall Barry (Project Director) able to both share Kentz perspective and provide direct feedback to the groups on their presentations.

At the end of each workshop the group are asked for their ‘reflections’, learning points including:

On team building:

  • “The most integral part is coordination, splitting tasks to respective people for achieving aims and objectives.”
  • “I’ve learned about working as a team and why we need to work well with others, and also about conflict and being a good leader.”
  • “Today we attended this important course where we learned a lot and tomorrow I will share this with my subordinates.”

On time management:

  • “I learned to tell my workmates to come on time, do their duty on time, finish the duty on time.”
  • “I’ve learned about so many things that are important – working as a team, communication, managing my job.”

“I’ve learned about the difference efficiency and effectiveness – doing things right and doing the right things.”

The learning process encourages team working, encourages people to get to know each other better and build their internal network, and identifies areas of personal improvement for them to build on once back at work.
