Equipping Leaders, Doha, Qatar
3rd March 2010
Live problems and issues facing leaders every day at work were addressed in action learning teams in Kentz Group’s Essential Skills of Leadership workshop. The venue was the Marriott Hotel, Doha, Qatar, March 3 & 4, 2010.

Pictured above standing are (left to right): Sundar Singh, Aruj Alam, Tanneer Ansari, Jonathan Walsh, Donal Leydon and Imranulla Syed.
Seated are: Kenny Fernandes and Dastagiri Basha Shaik.
Participants were drawn from managerial roles at a regional, country or project level from disciplines including project controls, commercial and quality assurance. They were quickly able to form cross-functional teams to resolve personal and organizational leadership issues.
Invited to reflect on what they had learned, participants offered observations such as:
“Coaching people in the best way – need to build relationships, break down communication barriers and get to know their weaknesses so they can improve. What delegation means and situational leadership. Motivating others – building on my weaknesses. Who moved my cheese? – change.”
“Helping to encourage people make improvements. The need for an open culture within the team.”
“Encountering problems at work every day. The fishbone diagram helps to get to the root cause of them. It helps visualize issues at work and outside work.”
