Launch of distance learning engineering HNCs and HNDs

March 2010

Corporate Learning Consultants Ltd is able to announce the launch of a suite of engineering Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Diplomas (HNDs) to our client base. The programmes are offered in partnership with COLU, the open learning unit of Teesside University, the UK’s university of the year.

The programmes are offered to experienced engineers and technicians working I industry and covering:

  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering;
  • Mechanical Engineering;
  • Instrument and Control Engineering;
  • Chemical Engineering.

On completion, graduates can transfer their credits towards a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) degree.

The programmes are initially offered as distance learning programmes, with the COLU materials capable of being used even in environments where no access to the Internet is possible. However, full tutorial support is provided by Teesside University specialist tutors.

CLC recognize that completing distance learning programmes can be difficult and offer a package of client and learner support designed to facilitate successful completion.

The honour of being the first to register goes to Vince Scurria of Kentz Group, based in the Worley Parsons office in Houston Texas.

"I joined the Teesside University HNC programme to boost experience as a leader and engineer with an industry recognized qualification. I will use the HNC as a basis to continue to B.Eng."
