Successful WIAL-UK Workshop in Dorney Lake, Windsor
1st November 2011Once again another series of Action Learning Coach Workshops where held at the fabulous Dorney Lake, Eton College’s Rowing Centre venue by the World Institute for Action Learning in the UK (WIAL-UK). They were spread out over six days and where broken down as follows:
Foundation for Action Learning, 2 days, October 24th & 25th, 2011
Certification for Action Learning Coaches 1 (CALC1), 2 days, October 26th & 27th, 2011
Certification for Action Learning Coaches 2 (CALC2), 2 days, October 28th & 29th, 2011
Pictured above are the candidates who attended the first phase of the workshops from the 24th -26th October 2011. This was two days of Foundation for Action Learning and one day of CALC 1 which was lead by Shannon Banks, Senior HR Business Partner, Western Europe Microsoft Advertising & Online. The group consisted of from left to right: Dr John Koenigsberger (Independent Consultant), Grant Weston (Goodrich), Shelley Easton-Leadley (BP), Hong Park Kyun (Tuntun English), Marilyn Bishop (Goodrich), Kathy Isherwood (Microsoft), Teresa Casserly (Institute of Public Administration), Suhendra (Nestle) and Shannon Banks (Workshop leader).
The second phase of the workshops was one day of CALC1 and two days of CALC2 conducted by Dr. Bea Carson, WIAL-USA Chairman and co-founder of WIAL. The second phase included candidates who attend WIAL-UK workshops back in March 2011 who were returning after a practice break, to gain full certification as a Action Learning coach. The group also included other various candidates joining use from other WIAL programmes.

Action Learning participants become effective leaders as they solve difficult urgent problems.

It should be noted that WIAL requires a practice break
This means candidates wishing to complete the full certification often complete it in two three-day blocks (as shown above). This means people starting in April 2012 would be able to complete their certification in October 2012.
