Business Premises - The old Coach House

RasGas and Qatar Kentz team building sessions, Doha

24th October 2011

In two inter-related sessions RasGas and Qatar Kentz engineers and leaders got together for team building sessions:

  • Effective Collaborative Working held at the Doha Intercontinental Hotel, 24th October, 2011; and
  • Establishing Collaborative Leadership held at the Doha Renaissance Hotel, 25th October 2011.

The workshops were created in consultation with Nisar Latif (Projects Technical Services, RasGas) and Chris Gallagher (Projects Director, Qatar Kentz) with Dave Morris (formerly Projects Director, Qatar Kentz) contributing to early stage design work. They were written and delivered by Dr Eric Sandelands of Corporate Learning Consultants Ltd.

Both sessions focused on a range of team activities designed to bring people together, understand each other better, solve problems and create actions. Both had the groups analyse the common ground (values, history, etc) and the common goals they share. Both also encompassed a team challenge requiring RasGas and Kentz staff to work together to be successful.

In the Effective Collaborative Working session participants examined open communication issues in action learning sets. In the Establishing Collaborative Leadership session leaders addressed the ground rules needed to lead effectively.

Insights were captured from both sessions in reports that form the basis for future management action.
