The certificate programme is six months in duration, followed by around nine further months of implementation activity as the project becomes embedded within the business. The total process is managed by Sarah Nalborczyk, Emerald’s Training and Development Manager on behalf of the Emerald Academy Board.
Prior to receiving their certificated from Prof. Weir the candidates presented their project outcomes in teams to a group of directors and senior managers of the company. Projects addressed by Emerald Academy Set 5 were:
- Establishing a brand positioning report for Emerald;
- Making use of social networking tools;
- Maximising the impact of the Insider’s Guide to Getting Published;
- The Emerald Global Gateway (EGG): the global resource centre;
- Targeting usage in the Middle East with an SMS marketing campaign.
The completion of Set 5 saw Dr Keith Howard retire as Academy Dean, to be replaced by Bill Russell, a director of the company.
