Professor David Lamond

David Lamond is Associate Dean, Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University.
David’s qualifications include a first class honours degree in psychology (gaining the Australian Psychological Society Prize in 1982), a Master of Public Management (being recognised as an Allen Knott Scholar in 1987), and a Doctor of Philosophy (being awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation in 2000).
He is a registered psychologist and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. David is published across a range of academic disciplines on management issues, with two books, 12 book chapters, and more than 60 refereed journal articles and conference presentations.
He is Editor of the Journal of Management History (being recognised for his work on the journal with an Emerald Leading Editor Award in 2007), and member of several Editorial Advisory Boards. In addition to his continuing interest in all aspects of scholarship in management history,David’s current research interests are concerned with the relationship between personality and managerial style, personal responsibility and CSR, and cultural differences in human resource management strategies, and.
His experience base incorporates more than 15 years in management education at Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) and Sydney Graduate School of Management (SGSM), and, previous to that, a successful career as a senior public sector executive, in local and State government in NSW, Australia. His responsibilities have included direct service management, corporate and strategic planning and implementation, and Director and CEO of SGSM.
David has consulted extensively both locally and internationally. In Australia he has consulted to business, government, and the not-for-profit sector. His international clients have included Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals Trust (UK), Universitas Terbuka and PT 3M Indonesia (Indonesia), Sheraton Towers Hotel and 3M Singapore (Singapore), SATOW and DIT (People’s Republic of China), and the President’s Office, Republic of Maldives. David’s contributions to these organizations have been significant and various, from facilitating strategic planning initiatives and preparing extended reports and recommendations for structural and strategic reviews, through developing and implementing executive training and development programs and providing direct coaching and mentoring services, to sharing his ideas in a series of entertaining and informative presentations to audiences in a variety of settings.
His most recent assignment, in the second half of 2007 was to act as Founding Dean and Professor for the Kochi International Business School (KiBS) in its initial start-up phase. In this role, he established, and gained FIBAA (Austrian government) accreditation for, the School’s MBA program, to be taught in conjunction with the Management Centre Innsbruck; mapped out the teaching program for the inaugural intake of students in September, 2008; developed and established the KiBS website, along with the School’s 2008 prospectus; and had key inputs into the design of the KiBS teaching facilities.
